The River of Thoughts

A glacier melts into quiet streams of pondering,
And cries through burden, flows through my head.
The icy sculpture becomes a myriad of blues
That overtake feelings of joy and dread.

This river ebbs and surges; it has no mercy-
Clashing with rocks that dare falter its flow!
Violent spurts of murky blue- how a simple worry
Can conquer your senses and expose all your woes.

This furious stream, it plays with me,
It demands my attention when all are asleep
Oh, Mr. Thought- please just let me be
Stop teasing me, stop hurting me.

The last drop of water trickles with light,
Plows through a field of hidden greenery…
It bathes my anguish with a spill of warmth bright
And melts like honey into a grand scenery.

These silent whispers of mist have crowded around
Oh, how the hiss of water toys with my brain!
This flurry was cruel, mirthless, rage with no bound
A river of thoughts that I cannot let reign.
