‘Twas soon a dull and rainy day,
Oh! The wetness o’ the fields and swaying o’ the trees.
Tearful, the children who strolled and played,
Why, the Rain Gods had already chilled the breeze.
Bawling and wailing, they hustled inside.
In the blink of an eye, dry blankets arrived.
Youths and babes, in warm arms they dried,
Whilst their playful jest revived.
Soon, the air was tranquil once more,
And they roamed and chattered now under a roof.
Soon, teachers read stories galore,
While everyone sat and together, they goofed.
How, in just a couple of moments,
Everything shifted from tears to laughter.
How, with a few simple hugs and poems,
It was suddenly turned into a happily after.
I’ll tell you how, I’m not bemused.
For the teachers now sang,
Soothing rhymes and rainy blues.
Humming tunes to block out the clang
The gloomy rains cause for the youthful gang.
Teachers, the savious on a rainy day,
Teachers, who warm while you shiver from the cold.
Teachers, who sing and made you joyfully sway,
Teachers, who guide you while you wear a blindfold.
Teachers, who love you, tutor and advise,
Who hold your hand while you’re sad, and encourage you to try.
Teachers, your friends, family, and best allies,
Teachers, who overjoy you and console you when you cry.
Rain pausing, they gathered by the window in awe,
Teachers soon joined students, gazing outside.
Holding their breath, a rainbow they saw,
The blissful colours and bright rays far and wide.
